The packaging for Cassadaga (the new Bright Eyes record) is really interesting. It looks like a Magic Eye, and it comes with a 'spectral decoder' that you can run over it to see all the artwork. There are loads of symbols, and sayings, some in other languages. I've been spending my night researching some of it. Like, on the cover, it says MIGHTY SATURN ENTERS YOUR EIGHTH HOUSE, and apparently when Saturn enters the eighth house, it brings to question how one handles power, desire, intimate relationships, and what their addictions, obsessions, deep-rooted compulsions, and unhealthy attachments are. It also brings attention to one's own mortality, and in the context of the record, I find that very interesting indeed.

ROCKS BENEATH THE WATER is also on the cover, which is what 'Cassadaga' means in the Seneca Indian language.

EST-CE MINUIT OU MIDI? Is it midnight or noon? in French.

Encircling the main image on the cover are a series of letters, which are 216 Hebrew letters making up the passage about Moses parting the sea, as arranged by a Kabalist into 72 columns of 3 letters each. It's said to be the esoteric expansions of the Sacred Fourfold Name (YHVH).
